Life Simplified by Jos (“I”, “me”, “my”) is a private lifestyle management service based in Parnell, Auckland. Discretion is at the heart of what I do, and that includes how I look after your personal information. This policy explains what I collect through this website, why, and how it’s protected, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What information I collect
When you contact me. If you use the contact form or email me, I collect the details you choose to share: your name, email address, the subject of your enquiry, the services you’re interested in, and your message.
When you become a client. If we work together, I’ll collect further information needed to deliver the service, such as addresses, schedules, preferences and household details. This is covered by a separate confidentiality agreement.
When you browse this website. Like most websites, this site uses cookies and similar technology to keep it working properly and to understand how visitors use it, for example which pages are viewed. This information is collected in a way that doesn’t identify you personally.
How I use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation
- To provide and manage my services if you become a client
- To improve this website and understand which content is helpful
- To meet my legal and accounting obligations
I will never sell, rent or trade your personal information, and I won’t add you to a mailing list without your permission.
Who your information is shared with
I only share your information when it’s needed to provide my service, and only with trusted providers who are expected to keep it secure. These include:
- Website and email providers that host this site, receive contact form messages and store emails
- Analytics providers such as Google Analytics, which help me understand website traffic
- Trusted suppliers I coordinate on your behalf as a client, who receive only the details needed for the task, and only with your agreement
- Professional advisers such as my accountant, where required
Some of these providers store information outside New Zealand, for example in the United States. Where this happens, I take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.
Cookies
You can choose to accept or decline non-essential cookies using the cookie banner on this site, and you can clear cookies at any time in your browser settings. Declining cookies won’t affect your ability to use the site or contact me. See my Cookie Policy for more detail.
How your information is kept safe
I take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including secure website hosting, password-protected systems and strict confidentiality in how I work. I only keep your information for as long as it’s needed for the purposes above, or as required by law.
Clients and visitors outside New Zealand
I work with clients in the UK and elsewhere. If you’re in the UK or the European Union, you may have additional rights under local data protection laws, such as the right to request deletion of your information or to object to how it’s used. Just email me and I’ll help.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you, and to ask me to correct it. To make a request, email info@lifesimplifiedbyjos.com. I’ll respond as soon as possible, and within 20 working days.
If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, please contact me first so I can put it right. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at www.privacy.org.nz.
